Australia to Vanuatu and back 2015.

For this trip I joined a fairly new Fountain Pajo Helia 44ft in Mooloolaba,  Queensland, Australia.

Helia 44 catamaran

This trip took me from the Queensland coast to New Caledonia, Isle of Pines, Loyalty Islands and then onto Vanuatu. From there we sailed through the islands of Efate, Malakula, Epi and Espiritu Santo. We left Luganville for the journey back to Australia stopping off at Chesterfield Reef on the way, 500 miles from anywhere.

After arriving back in Mackay we then sailed around the fabulous Whitsunday Islands starting from Airlie Beach for a couple of weeks before taking the boat to Yeppoon.

This was the rough route oc the journey which totalled nearly 3500 nautical miles.

The full journey was documented in the blog but to save you time it starts about here –

  1. Nice looking boat Blatch, looking forward to the read and plenty of photos of local beers.
