Well what a wonderful place !! Truely stunning everywhere you look, many islands, nice water, cosy little town, not busy, just nice and relaxed.
Woke at about 5 o’clock this morning due to some damn native bird making a hell of a squaking sound behind my motel, sounded as though it was being strangled, sadly it wasn’t and continued for some time.
Booked myself on another trip, just think of the Tesco clubcard points i’ve already accumalated on trips. This ones a four hour trip around the Bay of Islands on a fast catermaran, stopping off for an hour on one on the islands.
A wonderful place, breath taking scenary, very clean and natural. I’ll add some photos when i can. Had an afternoon wandering around town and trying to decide what to do tomorrow morning. Might go kayaking if the weathers good.
The time has come to leave Auckland. Had a great time here and done many trips here there and everywhere. Had a late breakfast as the bus wasn’t leaving until 1 p.m.. Took the oppourtunity to pay a visit to the bank. You know you’re in a nice town when the bank clerks aren’t sitting behind glass screens that go floor to ceiling, the other staff actually came up to me and asked if i was ok, a strange experience !!
The bus was punctual and took 4 hours to get up to Paihia in the Bay of Islands. Well what can i say, a truly stunning place !! Very picturesque, wonderful scenary, looking forward to a couple of days here and some more sight seeing trips !! Found my motel so off for a bite to eat and a couple of Steinlagers no doubt…………
